We are thrilled to have our students back this year, both in person and at home, and want to thank each and every one of you for your time and commitment to making it all happen.
Together with our Good Shepherd teachers and staff, we have prepared diligently for the year ahead--we've come together in one of the toughest times! Our students and families have met each requirement asked of them, and as a whole, we are taking steps together to keep one another safe.
Now we ask our dedicated network of supporters to come together to support the continued vitality of Good Shepherd School.
In order to reopen for in-person learning abiding by the safety guidelines and conditions that would meet our academic standards, GSS incurred incredible financial expenses to provide for the following:
Updated technology, including: Chromebooks, teacher computers, headphones, webcameras, document cameras, smartTVs, high-speed WiFi in school building
Student and teacher digital programming & textbook licenses
Capital improvements, such as: Expansion and renovation of cafeteria space into classrooms
Partitions for the gym for extra classroom space
Renovation and upgrading of the nurse's office and isolation room
COVID protections, including: Personal Protective Equipment for staff, teachers, & students
COVID protocol signage & thermometers
Hand sanitizers in classrooms
Automatic soap and paper dispensers in the bathrooms
Hiring of cleaning company who cleans & disinfects daily
Disinfectant fogger for classrooms
We still seek funding for the continued costs of maintaining many of the above as well as future projects like upgrading ventilation.
We know it is a difficult time for many, and many may not have much to spare. However, I ask you to give what you can to invest in our students and the future of Good Shepherd School. Please give, $20 or $200 or $2,000 or $20,000 or any amount that you are able to. Please spread the word to your family members and friends as well.
Participate now, only for one day on 11/20, by donating and/or spreading the word on the “20 on the 20th” campaign by clicking on the following link:
Thank you in advance for your generosity and your endless support of Good Shepherd School. It took creativity and a giving spirit to give us the chance to reopen when so many couldn’t, and I hope we can call upon that again now.
