Gilvin Melo

Today's 8th Grade Student Spotlight features Gilvin Melo.

Gilvin will be attending Regis High School next year and is receiving an academic scholarship. He is looking forward to learning new things.

His favorite subject at GSS is Earth Science Regents, and he enjoys reading. Gilvin plays basketball and football, and has participated in Dodgeball Club and Basketball Club at GSS. He received second honors, first honors, and Principal’s List since fifth grade, and also received the top student award in the fifth grade.

At GSS, Gilvin says he has learned to “work hard,” and “God is the most important thing in his life.” His favorite memory of GSS was his first basketball practice.

Gilvin would like to thank all of his teachers and principal for supporting him throughout his time at GSS. Looking ahead, Gilvin is interested in becoming a politician, or entering the business field.
