24 prospective good shepherd school engineers participated in a day of robotics at Holy Ghost prep high school in Bensalem, PA. Students learned to construct, program, and drive the same robots used in international competition. Special thanks to Mr. Dwyer, Mr. Pectaugh and Mr Jacobs for so graciously hosting us, Mr. John Brennan'56 for sponsoring the trip and visiting with the students, and to Ms. Binns, Mr. Jakody, Ms. Larios, Ms Reynoso, and Mr. Jorge for chaperoning. A great day was had by everyone and we even came back with a new friend, HGP donated to GSS one of the robots that was built.
Today, the Wall Street Journal featured Partnership Superintendent Kathleen Porter-Magee’s analysis of recently-released NAEP scores. As Kathleen explains in her piece, the news from NAEP is “dismal,” but Catholic schools stand out as a rare bright spot amidst some very dark clouds.
